Amtrak has vision of railroad system extending to SE Wyoming.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We could possibly be getting a new way to commute to Denver and back. A future project is being discussed, giving more options for travel.
“Many communities who we believe deserve better and more intercity passenger railroad services. This service can provide value and economic opportunities,” Amtrak, President, Stephen Gardner said.
On Monday morning, Amtrak met with the Cheyenne chamber of commerce president and Colorado’s front range commission... About a new intercity passenger rail service.
The rail service would connect from Pueblo to Cheyenne. Including stops in Colorado springs.. Denver.. And Fort Collins.
“We have over eleven thousand men and women in the armed forces who cross the border and still seek housing. As we know weather can be challenging, and the military would like to see a safer way to do that,” Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, President, Dale Steenbergen said.
Amtrak says although the projections forecast to be a decade long, developments in the railroad system are imminent.
