Mercer Family Resource Center hosting community baby shower on Saturday
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Mercer Family Resource Center provides information, teaching and tools to create stronger families, and it is hosting a community baby shower on Saturday, April 10.
The event is a drive up event from 10 A.M to noon, so families can drive through at the Mercer Family Resource Center’s office located at 535 W. Yellowstone Highway to get what they need.
“They’re going to receive a starter bag of diapers. They’re going to have wipes, and everyone’s going to get diaper cream within there,” said Shannon Decker, a Mercer Family Resource Center family and parenting specialist. “Then, we do have some personalized type of items, so if you’re a nursing mommy, or if you’re a breastfeeding mommy, we’ll have some personalized items for that as well.”
Families will also receive parenting resource materials and a special self care bag for moms. Everything being given out is free because of grants and community partners.
“It’s nice to know that we can provide that for them,” said Decker. “That if they’re struggling, they don’t know where to turn, this will give them a starter in that right direction. They don’t have to be asking their friends, calling their friends, putting these want ads out on Facebook, or Casper Classifieds, that these will be in their hands tangible.”
There will also be a raffle for a stroller and pack ‘n’ play.
