CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - UPDATE: Negotiators made contact on the phone with the individual suspected to be armed inside a home. The individual left the home voluntarily and was taken to the Police Department to be interviewed. Rebekah Ladd, the Casper Police Department Public Information Officer says the nature of the incident can’t be released and the investigation is ongoing.

The person involved in this situation was not arrested. Ladd says the name will be released if an arrest is made. The Natrona County Specialty Response Team was called to the scene and Ladd estimates 30 individuals on scene. There were no injuries and Ladd said this is the best outcome.

“It’s always a good day at the police department when our officers can go home safe and the public can go home safe and nobody is injured in a situation like this particularly when things can get dangerous and things were dangerous for a little bit of time,” Ladd said.

Casper police officers have converged on a house near the intersections of L Street and K Street.

Casper Police Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd said from nearby, “Officers don’t believe this to be a hostage situation. They do believe, however, the individual inside the home is potentially armed. Officers, who are trained in crisis negotiation, have been on scene giving commands to the individual inside requesting them to exit. So far, those commands have not been responded to. At this time, the situation is contained, and there is no threat to the public. The area will remain blocked off until there is a resolution. Casper police officers are being assisted by Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.”
