Local business owner says Downtown Runaround Scavenger Hunt kicked off with a bang this weekend
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Many locals gathered in Downtown Cheyenne this weekend to hunt for clues from local businesses. Twenty lucky participants who are first to solve all the clues are set to receive prizes from the Downtown Development Authority.
The week-long scavenger hunt was choreographed by the DDA and the Mayor’s Youth Council. The event was custom-made for the Cheyenne community to learn about local businesses and to have fun searching for clues together.
An anonymous local business owner said she is thrilled with the participation of the community she has witnessed so far.
“Downtown is really trying. We are trying to give back to those people who are coming down to purchase things and buy things and give them something fun to do, outside their house which is really great!” said local business owner.
The owner requested to stay anonymous as to not tip off any scavenger-hunters looking for clues.
This event is free and all participants have to do is find the clues, solve them and once they are completed, the first twenty participants to finish them win prizes.
“This is exactly what I think we need down here, is reasons for people to come out. Not just supporting the businesses and spending their money, but also giving them something fun to do as a family. I think it’s kind of just a great community effort, I appreciate that.”
The DDA tells us the first clue is “Round sweets wrapped in pink down South.”
The hunt will conclude next Saturday.
