Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator retires after serving for 35 years
FREMONT COUNTY, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
The Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator is retiring after 35 years of service. Kathi Metzler was responsible for planning and preparedness for the county. Emergency management acts as the liaison between the county commissioners and the state of Wyoming, as well as a mediator between fire services, public health, law enforcement, public works, and EMS, according to Metzler.
Kathi is looking forward to doing home updates, all kinds of handiwork, and just watching a little television for a change.
Larry Allen, Vice Chairman for the Fremont County Commissioners, stated, “Kathi has worked diligently when we have an incident, floods, fire, storms, some sort of emergency incident, that she gets everything in order. She’s the one you go to to find out what we do next. She does an excellent job for the county, she’s going to be totally missed.”
The Emergency Management Coordinator position is now open and applications will be accepted by the commissioners until this Friday, March 26th.
