LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A Laramie couple went viral on social media after posting pictures of their giant Garfield sculpture. The Haydens said they used the heavy snowfall to make a masterpiece of the infamous kitty.

Jenny Hayden said this was not an original idea; rather, she was inspired by her parent’s identical Garfield sculpture they made in 1985. Jenny said she thought it would be fun to start a new tradition of recreating the special sculpture.

The couple said it took about two hours to build and color the orange tabby.

“Max and I made our first Garfield today, obviously with the snowstorm. Snowstorms like this don’t happen very often where you have enough snow to make a Garfield so I thought if we could make one now and then make one when we have kids, maybe they could carry on the tradition that would be super fun because it is not something you see very often,” said Jenny.

The Hayden’s hope for the chance to see more large snowfall in the future to continue building the Garfield sculpture.
