CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Late Saturday night a tease of precipitation that looks to be rain/wintry mix will start to develop in SE Wyoming. With a Blizzard Warning in effect for Albany, Carbon, Goshen, Laramie and Platte Counties until Monday at 6 a.m. with Winter Storm Warning’s in effect until Sunday afternoon and evening.

The storm is on track to making significant impacts Saturday afternoon as heavy wet snow looks to fall throughout Saturday and Sunday. With the low from the West tracked in Utah and the other coming from the South, bringing in moisture from the gulf will be fueling this storm, however it will also be bringing a tad bit warmer conditions to the Nebraska panhandle which is why we are expecting to see rain and sleet before it transitions into full out snow late Saturday.

Winds will be breezy through Saturday but will really see stronger gusts pick up on Sunday which will bring potentials of white out and blizzard conditions. Travel Saturday afternoon Through Sunday night is inadvisable and will be near impossible. Road impacts will just be the start as heavy wet snow will also bring potential of downed power lines and power outages.

If you have anything last minute you would need to do, it is recommended to get them done early Saturday morning and then stay at home or in a safe place throughout the duration of this storm. Saturday night into Sunday will be very dangerous.
