CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - D’Anthony Smith was one of the heroes for Natrona County High School wrestling in its pursuit for its first state title since 1984, and he signed a letter of intent on Monday to continue his football career.

He was surrounded by family, friends and coaches when he made it official that he will be playing football in college at Chadron State College in Nebraska. He said football was the sport he “loved,” so he’s excited to continue playing the game.

His brother, Trevon, is currently a defensive lineman at Chadron, and D’Anthony joined the three players from Kelly Walsh High School, who also signed letters of intent to play football at Chadron State last week.

Smith said he had grown “a lot” during his time at Natrona County. “We have a good culture here,” said Smith. “They’re not just teaching us how to play football, but they’re helping us learn about life and how to go through it.”

He encouraged teammates that also wanted to one day be signing to “work hard.” “Put in the work. Leave it all out on the field,” said Smith. “Don’t be afraid to get your name out there.”
