Active Weather Starts Tomorrow
Monday Evening Weather Update
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Tonight the weather will remain very calm and mild. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower 30s to the lower 40s with mostly clear skies with breezy conditions in Casper. Winter Storm Watches, in the blue color, are in effect for most of the central part of the state until Wednesday at 5PM; however, I expect these to be issued as a Winter Storm Warning tomorrow evening. High Wind Warning is in effect for Elk Mountain until tomorrow at 9am.
The moisture will be entering the state tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow evening bringing rain until the temperatures drop below freezing then will transition into snow. Heavy snow is expected Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. By Wednesday mid-morning snow showers become isolated over the entire state. Casper is expected from 4-6 inches. Depending on where the heaviest bands develop will cause these amounts to be higher. Cheyenne is only looking to get about a dusting if lucky. The snow won’t stop Wednesday night more snow is possible across the state Thursday through Sunday with Cheyenne having a better chance for snow accumulation as most of the moisture will be in the southern part of the state. Temperatures will be cooling down after tomorrow so get out and enjoy the warm weather before it turns cold again!
