Warm, Dry Temperatures = Increased Fire Weather Threats

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Fire Weather Warnings are in effect for Crook, Weston Counties, and the Panhandle of Nebraska until Saturday at 7PM. This is due to the dry and windy conditions as well as the warm temperatures. It’s going to be a great night for grilling as winds are calm and temperatures are pretty mild. Tonight temperatures will be chilly with temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s across the state with mostly clear skies.

Fire weather threats will increase across the state tomorrow. If you are starting a fire make sure to put it completely out before you leave to make sure it doesn’t spread and cause a wildfire. It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend, great weather to get outdoors if you can stand the windy conditions. The winds will start to pick up tomorrow morning and really start gusting around noon. The areas that will get a break from the windy tomorrow is the southeastern corner of Wyoming and Colorado.

Sunday the winds will calm down for most of the state with temperatures in the 60s for most areas and sunny skies. Amazing weekend to get outdoors and get active as temperatures will cool down next week with a cold front on the way. The next time the state has a chance for moisture will be Tuesday into Wednesday.
