Sanford’s Grub and Pub reluctantly complies to restrictions from the Health Department
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Sanford’s, a local favorite located in downtown Cheyenne, announced earlier they are now going to function at half-capacity.
The restaraunt is one of the many in town that did not want to comply with the 50% capacity mandate that the Health Department was enforcing to maintain social distancing. The staff has expressed concerns about what this means for the future of their jobs. The company reluctantly announced that they will be at half-capacity for the foreseeable future.
“That’s 50% less customers; its 50% less time that I’m able to schedule my employees. I mean it’s a big deal, it will affect us a lot. I got a lot of employees coming to me asking if they’re gonna make the next schedule,” said General Manager, John Moya.
“Our customers, our employees- they all have expectations and now they’re going down to 50% and there’s really absolutely nothing we can do about it,” said Moya.
The restaraunt previously had a sign outside its’ door stating that they will not be practicing social distancing.
James Yates, the owner of Sanford’s said that he would not wish this on any other business and that he is mostly concerned about his employee base and how this could impact his people.
