CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Rooted in Cheyenne and Arts Cheyenne are encouraging the Laramie County community to get creative. The organizations are hosting an “Artist Series T-Shirt Design Contest.”

“Part of our mission is to build community and what better way to build the community than to get the community involved in the next t-shirt we want to give out,” said Rooted in Cheyenne board member, Jason Hardy.

From now until April 23rd, Rooted in Cheyenne will be accepting designs for a limited edition T-Shirt it will end up selling to the public. The organization is excited to be able to give local artists a chance to show their craft. Rooted in Cheyenne focuses on “Investing in a Living Legacy,” which it wants the artists to focus on for the design.

“It’s great for them to have the ability to show the community their style and we would be proud to wear it on our shirt,” said Rooted in Cheyenne Head of Fundraising, Kimberly Ley.

The deadline for the contest is April 23rd. The RIC Board will decide the winner and announce it at their Arbor Day celebration on April 30th. You can submit your work at this link. For more information on the contest, head to RIC’s Facebook here and the full post can be found below:

“Calling all Artists! Rooted in Cheyenne is partnering up with Arts Cheyenne to give local artists the opportunity to design a limited edition t-shirt for Rooted in Cheyenne! RIC’s mission is to “reestablish a long-term tree planting program in our city to help support a more diverse and resilient urban canopy and to cultivate greener, healthier, more livable neighborhoods.” Invest in a Living Legacy is what we like to say!

We are looking for artists to design a t-shirt based off our mission statement! The design should be no larger than 11″ x 11″. Deadline for design submissions is April 23rd. Once we have received the designs our board members will vote for the winner. The winning t-shirt will be announced at our Arbor Day celebration at Freedom’s Edge on April 30th and then sold to the general public as the limited edition “artist series” t-shirt. The proceeds from the sale of the shirt will help Rooted in Cheyenne continue our mission!

If you would like to participate as an artist, please fill out the google form at the link below which includes your contact information as well as an uploaded image of your design. Please ensure your submission is print quality.
