CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - Cheyenne Police Detectives and the Laramie County Coroner continue working together to investigate the recent death of a local 2-year-old child.

On February 19, 2021 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Cheyenne Police Officers responded to a report of a missing 2-year-old near the 500 block of Desmet Drive. Cheyenne Police Officers conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area and found the missing child deceased in a nearby dumpster.

The Cheyenne Police Department (CPD) continues to work with the Laramie County Coroner as the full autopsy report is still pending.

“An error was made during a phone interview, as we have not received the full autopsy report. We maintain good working relations with our partner agencies and our focus is where it should be, on investigating this case,” said Detective Bureau Lieutenant Rob Dafoe.

The CPD will continue to provide updates as information becomes available
