Abba’s House pregnancy resource center offers free ultrasound training day
FREMONT COUNTY, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Abba’s House pregnancy resource center in Riverton is offering free ultrasound days for volunteers who already know they are pregnant and are willing to get another ultrasound to help nurses in their training. Ideally, the volunteer should be in their first trimester, as that is most commonly what the training nurse would be seeing.
In exchange the mother will learn how far along she is in her pregnancy, have a check of the baby’s heart rate, and get pictures of her child in utero. The ultrasound pictures however, are not sent to a doctor for review.
Registered nurse with Abba’s House, Hilary Engum emphasized, “Providing this service is really close to my heart. I know that there’s a lot of things that go through a new mother’s mind when she first finds out she’s pregnant, especially when it’s unexpected. (We) go through everything that’s happening with her body, what are her options for this pregnancy, I think is a really invaluable service for our community.”
The next free ultrasound day is March 10th from noon to 4:30 p.m. You can call Abba’s House at (307) 856-0999 ahead of time, for an appointment.
