CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Northstar Pharmacy and Infusion held a one-day vaccine clinic at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

They partnered with Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, City County Public Health, American Medical Response, the fire department, student nurses and pharmacists from the University of Wyoming and had more than 80 volunteers.

Amy Schmidt, owner of Northstar, said that they only had one week to put this massive event together.

“(It’s) All hands on deck, I think we have over 80 volunteers helping us today,” Amy said.

Northstar received a call last week asking if they could take a tray of the vaccine that contained 1,170 doses and did not hesitate to roll up their sleeves and get the work done.

“More than anything, we really just wanted to bring our community together, and use our resources together, and do a community event just to be more one-in-purpose,” said Co-owner of Northstar and Amy’s husband, Scot Schmidt.

The Schmidt’s said at the end of the day, when they finish their assessment of inventory, they will contact anyone on the waiting list if there are any extra doses.
