Man arrested on suspicion of fentanyl distribution in Cheyenne
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - In Cheyenne a man was recently arrested on suspicion of intent to deliver large quantities of illegal controlled substances.
31 year old Kenneth Waters Jr. remains detained at the Laramie County Detention Center on a 25 thousand dollar bond.
Authorities said Detectives initiated an investigation of a suspected overdose resulting in death.
Reports say During the course of the investigation a search and analysis of the deceased’s text messages revealed conversations with Waters in regards to the purchase and use of opioids.
Detectives say a confidential source reported hearing about 3 additional overdose deaths in the Cheyenne area over the past week.
It is believed the man with the alias of “Shorty” aka Kenneth Waters received a large shipment of fentanyl pills and was distributing the pills in Laramie County.
Authorities say if Waters is proven guilty in a court of law he faces up to 30 years in prison.
