CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It’s almost been two years since Madeline Zanetti adopted her shetland sheepdog, Lilly. Lilly was one out of 63 animals rescued from a hoarding situation in 2019.

Lilly was taken to Rocky Mountian Shelton rescue in Colorado where Zanetti volunteered to bathe the dogs that came from Casper. She eventually agreed to foster Lilly which lead to her adoption. She says Lilly is doing well but has some common quirks rescue dogs have.

“She hides behind my legs when she comes across a new person,” Zanetti said. She has two dog siblings named Moose and Sassie.

“There’s a saying shelties are like potato chips you can’t have just one,” Zanetti said.

These other dogs helped her get aquatinted to her home.

“She’s picked up on all the commands they know,” Zanetti said.

She adds she’s grateful for the metro officers getting these animals out of poor living situations.
