Waltman Rest Area closed for water leak repair

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

The Waltman rest area between Shoshoni and Casper has been closed following the discovery of a water leak and water line break outside the facility. The rest area will remain closed until the issue is resolved. The parking lot is also closed for sanitary reasons, due to some issues that have occurred in the past.

WYDOT Public Information Specialist, Cody Beers stated “Anytime we close our rest area we also try to close the parking area because people still will stop and do their business at a rest area even if the building is closed and it creates a health and safety issue for our employees and for people going inside the area.”

We will have the latest updates about the rest area re-opening when we have that information.
