Snow Showers Likely for Parts of the State this Evening

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for far eastern part of Albany and far western part of Laramie Counties until Thursday at 5am. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the western part of Wyoming until Saturday at 6am including Jackson and Yellowstone. High Wind Warning is in effect for parts of Carbon and Albany Counties until Saturday at 5am. High Wind Watches have been posted for parts of Laramie, Albany, and Platte Counties until Saturday at 5am. These will likely be upgraded tomorrow night or on Friday.

Most of the snow showers this evening and overnight will remain in the southeastern part of Wyoming and in northern Colorado. Most of the accumulations will be in Colorado as this will be here most of the moisture is, but in Wyoming areas like Laramie, Cheyenne and I-80 between these regions will see a half inch and up to an inch. Make sure to bundle up Wyoming as it’s going to be a frigid night. Overnight low temperatures are going to be in the low teens and single digits tonight with wind chills 10 below 0.

Thursday expect cooler temperatures with winds starting to pick up going into the afternoon hours. Sustain winds in the 20s and gusts 30-40mph. The winds will continue to mess up your hair as Friday comes along with winds increasing to 30mph sustain and gusts up to 60mph.
