CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On a cold, snowy Wednesday night, a feeling of warmth was brought from the Cheyenne community. Dozens gathered at the local two-year-old’s memorial to pay their respects. Tela Teppert organized the event and said it’s important for the community to come together during this tough time.

“This is not something we need to be quiet as a community. To me as a parent, myself and my husband we have children, they need the voices. If they can’t speak for themselves, we need to do that for them.”

Those who came to the vigil held up candles and placed flowers and stuffed animals at the boy’s memorial. Teppert said she’s been amazed at the outpouring of support from the Cheyenne community.

“Over the last three days, over 300 people have come to support Athian. He deserves it and that is what that memorial is doing is, he has a voice now and I want to keep it that way.”

She continued to say that the Cheyenne community needs to always speak up for their children.

“They need our support, they need our love, the safety of what a home should be, not something that can be just thrown away like they’re nothing.”

Wyoming News Now currently knows that Wyatt Lamb was arrested recently on charges unrelated to the death of the two-year-old. At this time we do not know the relationship, or when, or if the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office will file additional charges. However, Cheyenne Police are recommending additional aggravated child abuse and murder charges be added.
