CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Another disturbance will come through bringing in moisture to the western half of the state with some snow showers trickling down to Carbon and Albany Counties. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the western half of Wyoming and the Sierra Madre and the Snowy Mountains until Sunday at 5am. These regions will likely see 12 to 15 inches of snowfall over the weekend. Also check the roads before traveling as blowing snow will cause reduced visibility and some roads might be closed for light/high profile vehicles.

Into this weekend Saturday temperatures will be in the lower 40s in Cheyenne with a chance for snow; however, right now it is not looking like much will accumulate. Casper will a have a better chance for snow showers Saturday with mostly cloudy skies, breezy conditions and temperatures in the mid 30s. Sunday temperatures will be lower only topping out in the low 30s in Cheyenne with most sunny skies and breezy conditions. Casper will be in the upper 20s to low 30s Sunday with sunny skies and breezy conditions.

The good news is Monday temperatures will start to warm up in the 40s and even 50s by Tuesday before another cold front comes along later next week to cool the state down. The caveat to the warm temperatures is the winds are going to be howling with gusts up to 80mph and sustain winds in the 30-40mph range. With snow still on the ground blowing snow will be a travel hazard for the beginning of the week.
