Midwest senior headed east to play volleyball
Cortni Pickett made her collegiate athletic dreams come true on Thursday when she put pen to paper and signed with Northern Vermont University-Lyndon to play volleyball.
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cortni Pickett has played volleyball since she was in the 4th grade, and she was a varsity starter all four years at Midwest School. She loves the game and would do anything to continue playing.
On Thursday, she took the next step to continue her volleyball career by signing with Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.
After putting pen to paper and making it official, she answered questions about her future school and listened to her high school coach talk about her growth as a player and a person.
She chose Northern Vermont University-Lyndon over Black Hills State and is excited to be a Hornet. She has not met any of her future teammates in person yet, but she has been able to connect with them a little bit via email.
Pickett has never been to Vermont or the east coast, so she is excited for what’s ahead. “I’m really excited to get to do something new and still get to do my dreams and play volleyball,” said Pickett.
Pickett said she wants to be a teacher and possibly coach after her volleyball career is over.
