CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Last night wrapped up the final forum in the search for new Laramie County School District Superintendent. Margaret Crespo was the fourth candidate in the running.

Crespo has been in education for over 25 years. She has served as a principal, and currently holds the position of Area Superintendent Southwest for Boulder Valley School District. Crespo spent Thursday night answering questions submitted by the community as to what makes her an ideal fit for the position.

“How do we capitalize on that energy of liking school- so that we can make it great for every child? And instructionally, you’re looking for the best (instruction). You’re looking for those strategies that are engaging, that are relevant and that are aligned to the outcomes that you really are looking for,” Crespo said.

Crespo believes that her previous experience will come into play and that she is fully prepared to take on the role of the new superintendent. She says that her relationship with the community must be a priority.

“There’s trust in communication and relationships. That is really what you’re looking for in a superintendent. I pride myself in that collaboration, I pride myself in that partnership and I pride myself in being visible and approachable,” said Crespo.

Spokesperson for LCSD1 says hopefully a decision can be reached soon.
