RIVERTON, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

The Winter Rendezvous games are happening this Saturday at the Riverton City Park. The public is welcome to view the events free of charge. They include a donut eating contest, ice carving, timed sled building, sledding races, ice sculpture carving, and tug of war among others. Food trucks will be present all day, and family lantern lighting is happening after the games. Bar 10 will be serving regular and adult beverages at an ice bar.

Mary Axthelm of R Recreation shared, “The origin of the Rendezvous Games came from Rebecca Schatza, she was in the military and they did this really amazing exercise that was strength and strategy and teamwork, and that was how the vision for the rendezvous was initiated.”

The games are from 1-5:00 p.m. on Saturday February 20th, with the lantern lighting happening at 6 p.m.
