CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

The #3 ranked Natrona County Fillies are getting ready to play two big games on their schedule. They take on the #4 ranked Cody Fillies on Friday and then their rivals Kelly Walsh on Feb. 25th.

“So we only beat Cody by two so that has been a big motivator for us, working on our strengths but we also saw some weaknesses that game that we have been striving to improve during practice and Kelly Walsh is always a goal like we don’t care the score we just want to destroy them,” said senior Brooklyn Hytrek.

Natrona’s game against Kelly Walsh will be on their home court.

“I’m excited to play Kelly here at our own dungeon and finally have it here and try and win it here ,” said senior Ruby Salazar.

The fillies were ready to get back to work after coming off a winning season from last year. Right now they sit in first in the 4A Northwest and have only lost two games so far. A big reason for their success this year is how close they are as teammates, positivity the see on and off the court, and staying focused.

“We have really been focusing on mentally being prepared and mentally focused on because that is the most important thing at this time of the season is just to stay focused for the ultimate goal at the end,” said Salazar.

“I think it is the girls we are all extremely close and very uplifting there is hardly any negativity,” said Hytrek.

The Natrona County Fillies will take on the Cody Fillies at home on Feb. 19.
