CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Central boys swimming and diving team have high hopes of bringing home a trophy to Cheyenne this week.

The Indians have not won a state championship since the 2013 season, but the man who is now at the helm of the program has plenty of experience winning.

Josh Bott, who is in his first year as the head coach of Central Swimming and Diving, has won a combined (boys and girls) eight state titles.

Bott won those championships as the head man at Campbell County from 2011-2018.

The coach said he has seen tremendous growth in this Central team.

“Their mental strength I think is the biggest thing,” Bott said. “There were a lot of early practices where they weren’t sure if I knew what I was doing and they weren’t sure if they were overdoing it or if they could even make it and they did and they got it all figured it out and they ended up having some really good swims through out the season.”
