Laramie sweeps weekend indoor track meets

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Saturday, there were two Round Three WHSAA state qualifying meets in the Cowboy State.
Team scores were taken at the Kelly Walsh hosted meet in Casper and Laramie won both the boys and girls competition.
Below are the final team scores:
Boys Scores:
1st: Laramie 189 points
2nd: Kelly Walsh 152 points
3rd: Mountain View 65 points
4th: Rawlins 42 points
5th: Douglas 40 points
6th: Western Heritage Lutheran 8 points
No score: South and Torrington
Girls Scores:
1st: Laramie 191 points
2nd: Kelly Walsh 164 points
3rd: Mountain View 83 points
4th: Rawlins 51 points
5th: Douglas 30 points
No score: South, Torrington and Western Heritage Lutheran
There was also a third round state qualifying meet in Gillette.
The teams who participated were Central, East, Burns/Pine Bluffs, Thunder Basin, Tongue River and Worland.
No team scores were taken, but there were two double-event winners and a triple-event winner.
Worland’s Kenna Holiday took home first place in the girl’s 55-meter, 200 meter, and 400 meter dashes.
Thunder Basin’s Oscar Martinez won the boy’s 200 meter and 400 meter dashes.
Tongue River’s Jason Barron won the boy’s 1600 meter and 3200 meter events.
