CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Cold temperatures come back tonight with most of the state bottoming out in the single digits. Winter Weather Advisories are in places in the western parts of Wyoming including Jackson until Tuesday at 11pm. This region will be snow accumulations of 6-12 inches. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for Sierra Madre and the Snowy Mountains until Wednesday at 5am. This region will see 12-15 inches for elevations higher than 9000 feet and 8-12 inches below. This is the ideal type of weather for anyone going snowboarding or skiing as fresh powder will be accumulating.

The next upper trough arrives tonight and will bring along snow and windy conditions especially for the higher elevations. The periods of heavy snowfall will be tonight and into Tuesday morning. With windy conditions expected blowing snow will cause travel hazards as visibility will be reduced. After Wednesday temperatures will start to warm up as a ridging pattern will be in place for Wyoming.
