CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It’s that weekend. It’s the weekend right before Valentine’s Day, and you’re scrambling to find that perfect present for the special someone in your life.

We’ve all been there, so some local business owners offered some insights on what they’d suggest if you’re buying that last minute Valentine’s Day gift.

Flowers are always a home run on Valentine’s Day, and Summer Anderson, owner of Consider the Lilies flower shop, said if you trust the florist they’ll blow you away. “I always suggest that you order your flowers and order designer’s choice because you’re going to get the freshest flowers. Your designer loves making something new and unique, instead of something that looks like a picture that everybody else is getting.”

If your Valentine has a sweet tooth, it’s never a bad idea to get them candy. Mike Stepp, the owner of Donnells Candies, suggested its signature pecan pixies. “The big thing about that is that we make the caramel right here... It’s our own recipe.”

Gift cards are always available, but Trisha Henrixson, owner of Spruce Beauty Bar, thought you can do better than that. “We also have so many fun products, so we can throw a little basket together for you. We can make your shopping super, super easy.”

Jewelry never goes out of style, said Calley Hobza, owner of the Cadillac Cowgirl. “It’s simple, yet meaningful. It’s something she can have forever. It’s not going to die. It’s not going to wear out.”

Some people’s Valentines enjoy reading a good book, and Miranda Berdahl, owner of Wind City Books, said they’ll help you find the perfect selection for that perfect person in your life. “What I would do is ask who’s this for, what do they usually like to read, and then, from there, we’ll direct you to something specific for that person.”

These are all just suggestions to get you started. Remember Valentine’s Day is on Sunday!
