Three Cheyenne Central student athletes sign letters of intent
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Three Cheyenne Central seniors put pen to paper in Central’s auditorium Wednesday afternoon.
With that signature, the student athletes made it official that they will be collegiate athletes next year..
Below are the signees, their future schools, and a quote about why their college “fit” for them:
Andy Cummins, University of Jamestown Football
“Once I got offered and they asked me to come up for a visit, I went up there and met with them in person for the first time and they were just really accepting and [it] felt like they wanted me to be there.”
Emily Needham, University of Mary Women’s Tennis
“It felt meant to be in a weird way, because I didn’t have that happen with any of the other schools I was reaching out to, but meeting them at the airport just seemed right and being able to talk to them more, it seemed more of a right choice. They had a physical therapy program which I was really interested in and their tennis program is really great. So, it was a perfect fit.”
*Emily’s UMary recruiting journey began at Denver International Airport when she randomly ran into the tennis team and coaching staff.
Kelsey Basart, Hastings College Women’s Basketball
“The business building there is right next to the gym, so it works out perfectly and they’re a school that’s based on athletes, so they work around an athlete’s schedule so it’ll be easy for me to be a student athlete there, which is what I need.”
Congratulations and best of luck to the signees!
