Wyoming Department of Corrections and COVID Cases
As of January 12 2021 WDOC reports after weekly routine samplings, there’s a confirmed 5 positive cases in Wyoming’s facilities.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -News In the Justice system, Jails and Prison facilities find keeping COVID cases under control in Wyoming’s department of Corrections comes with certain challenges.
“We’re doing what we can to prevent it but in an Asymptomatic person it’s gonna transmit, so when it makes its way in a facility then it really spreads in the institution,” Wyoming Department of Corrections, Deputy Administrator, Transparency Division, Paul L. Martin said.
As of January 12th of 2021 WDOC reports after weekly routine samplings, there’s a confirmed 5 positive cases in Wyoming’s facilities.
At this time 2 inmates and one staff member at Wyoming State Prison in Rawlins tested positive for the virus. At the Wyoming Honor Farm there’s 1 staff member and 1 inmate that contracted the virus.
The Wyoming Department of Corrections says, its working with the Wyoming Department of Health to monitor all inmate positive samples in accordance with the C-D-C’s guidelines.
“We had one facility that hadn’t had any cases, we had a couple of outbreaks at another facility but I feel confident that we’re among the most aggressive in the state when it comes to our testing and safety protocols.”
The Department says it will continue conducting rigorous surveillance testing at all sites.
