CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Local and State Law Enforcement’s security grows tighter by the hour. Recently, State Governments have been on high alert.

Nationwide, Authorities say they have seen an increase of online activity and efforts to organize rallies that may become violent.

Wyoming Highway Patrol briefed the public on Law Enforcement’s efforts in protecting Wyoming’s State Capitol grounds.

“We’ve implemented a heightened security presence due to the recent events across the nation. Our priority will continue to be public safety, while ensuring folks can exercise the right of freedom of speech that’s not going to change,” Wyoming Highway Patrol, Sergeant Jeremy Beck said.

The threat, according to the FBI, remains very serious. This comes after reports of threats of another attack in the coming days in Washington. It’s been reported if not in DC, then at various state capitals across the country as the threat from what happened ago, continues to grow.

Meanwhile, (WHP) is monitoring the situation closely, and all signs point to optimism in Cheyenne. “We encourage any one who does show up to any protest or demonstration to remain peaceful, that’s our priority. We want to make sure folks are able to exercise their right, but no one gets injured and the destruction of property.”

Sergeant Beck concluded saying, “The local law enforcement agencies are working together to ensure the public, state workers and elective officials are kept safe.”
