CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Cares Act funding for nonprofits in Fremont County has been decided on. On Tuesday night, the Fremont County Commissioners finished the long process of reviewing applications. They decided to award all the money provided through the state, to the county, dispersing it among the nonprofits who applied, giving preference to those nonprofits who had not previously received any funding assistance.

They awarded the money down to the very last cent that the county was given, for a total of $854,021.55 distributed amongst the 501-C3 and 501-C19 organizations.

“It was quite the process and we’re hoping to get it all done and out to everybody as soon as possible. We have a lot of nonprofits in Fremont County that are doing good things, and that was also showcased I think on Tuesday, and the commissioners were very happy with the people who applied. We’re excited about getting that money out to Fremont County residents,” stated Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese.

The checks are set to be given out by next Tuesday, which is also the next Fremont County Commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday, January 19th, at 9 a.m.
