CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After light snow showers early Friday morning and in the overnight hours. Skies have cleared in much of Wyoming. However, lingering cloud cover sticks into the Far NE area of Wyoming.

Friday afternoon winds look to die down with temperatures being chilly but remain fair in terms of conditions. Plenty of sunshine in the SE areas of Wyoming could assist in bringing warmer temperatures before they dive into 20s this weekend.

The Low pressure & stationary system acted as a catalyst this morning bringing snow showers early to NE Wyoming is making it’s way east bound to South Dakota and Nebraska. The descending upper level trough will influence snow showers in isolated areas. However, due to lack of moisture in the atmosphere. Accumulations will be very low on the ground if anything just a dusting. Upper elevations and the I-80 summit have greatest potential for seeing accumulations of an inch or two. However, this system is entirely disorganized and doesn’t look to do anything noteworthy.

Saturday morning: light snow showers look to develop in the far south west areas of Wyoming. Then areas in the North east and South East will see light snow showers late morning transitioning into early afternoon.

Temperatures will hit below freezing, in addition, the aforementioned system is disorganized and will bring just light snow fall but still could cause travel hazards Saturday so prepare and plan ahead in case.
