CLCHD vandalized early Thursday morning
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It seemed like an ordinary Thursday at the Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department until its staff arrived at the building around 7 a.m. this morning.
“Three sets of our doors were vandalized, and I’m sure that what the people that did it were attempting to do was to make it look like blood. I think it’s paint, like Halloween paint, but that’s what they came into first thing this morning,” said CLCHD Executive Director, Kathy Emmons.
What appeared to be red paint was splattered across almost every entry point into the building, across the outside doors, walls and keypads. Emmons said they believe the crime occurred between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
She said it’s disappointing, because CLCHD is owned by Laramie County and is paid for by the community. Emmons also said it saddened her to see how much the crime shook her staff, especially with how hard they are working for the community.
“We have people working hard to take care of our citizens, and this is not what they need, this is not what we need right now,” Emmons said.
Emmons said they have reported the crime to the Cheyenne Police Department and encourage anyone with information to call CPD. You can reach CPD at (307) 637-6500.
