CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Monday, both Wyoming teams were in action on the hardwood versus Fresno State.

The Cowboys were in California and the Cowgirls were at the Arena-Auditorium.

It was a tough night for both teams.

The Cowboys’ six-game win streak ended in a 20-point loss.

“With a young team you’re gonna have these moments and now we can see, it’s easy to respond when when you win,” UW Men’s Basketball Head Coach Jeff Linder said. “Now, it’s, okay, lose a game... how we gonna be?”

The Cowgirls, on the other hand, blew a big first quarter lead and lost in overtime.

“What happened to us is obviously we were getting scored on too much,” UW Women’s Basketball Head Coach Gerald Mattinson said. “We weren’t getting stops that we were getting the other night. So that allows them then to keep that tempo up and you gotta keep scoring.”

With Monday’s losses, both UW teams split their two-game conference series with Fresno.

The Cowgirls and Boys are both next in action versus Boise State on January 11.

The men will be here in Wyoming and the women will play in Idaho.
