Sports Year in Review: Laramie
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We continue our Year in Review series with Laramie High School.
Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen athletes combined for three team state championships and two individual titles as well.
That is great for a calendar year, but still 2020 was still frustrating and sad for a lot of athletes due to the spring cancelations.
Thankfully, the fall sports season started and finished as planned. Laramie Athletic Director Ron Wagner said one moment really stuck with him when sports returned.
“I just was in the gym and there were smiles on the kids faces and they were having fun,” Wagner said. “And to me, I thought -- man those kids missed so much in the spring, and for them to have the smiles on their faces -- I just tried to soak up every minute I could.”
