CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Cares act funding available to Fremont County nonprofits have received an extension, and there is $854,021.55 available. President Trump signed the extension on Sunday, which also opened up opportunities for nonprofits to apply to receive a stipend to account for lost revenue and less donations.

Rules and applications are available at fremontcountywy.gov, or by contacting Julie Freese, Fremont County Clerk at julie.freese@fremontcountywy.gov. The County Commissioners need the applications by January 8th at 5 p.m in hard copy format, as a signature is required. They can be turned in at the Print Shop in Riverton, or at the Fremont County Clerk’s office in Lander.

Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese stated, “If you need to email it to us just so you know that we get it, and then you bring it to us by Monday the 11th, then that would be fine so we do have it for the commissioners meeting on the 12th. I hope to send that out to them over the weekend however, when we get them in on the 8th so that they can review them and be ready.”

Freese said that since it a tight deadline, and most offices are closed on Friday, she is willing to accept calls over the weekend with any questions. Her number is also available on the Fremont County Website.
