CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Natrona County has received over $1.6 million to distribute to non-profit organizations, and Natrona County Commissioners hope that any non-profits in the area apply to receive funding.

“Natrona County was awarded just around $1.6 million, and our intention as commissioners is to go through and say based on wants or needs or impact of COVID how can we best deploy that money in our community to make it work for the residents,” said Natrona County Commissioner Brook Kaufman.

Kaufman said that the commissioners have a list of non-profits that they’d like to notify that these funds are available, but they encourage any non-profit to apply.

Applications are due on January 15, 2021, and the county commissioners are hoping to distribute the funds by February 1, 2021.

Kaufman also added that “it feels like Christmas” to be able to help support non-profits like this. “It’s a real opportunity to do good with some of that money as well and to make organizations be more sustainable and continue with their mission, so it means a lot to be able to do it.”

The application should be available soon on the county’s website. Check it out here.
