CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - For skiers at Hogadon Basin Ski Area this season, they don’t just have to deal with the challenges on the slopes, but they also have to make sure that they are following the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Masks are required inside the lodge, and lift lines are socially distanced. There are also reminders throughout the lodge to socially distance, wear a mask, and use hand sanitizer frequently.

Hogadon Superintendent Christopher Smith said they are following all of the COVID-19 safety measures instituted by the state and the county “to the letter of the law.” He’s also happy with all of the people that have been following the guidelines on their visits to Hogadon because an outbreak would force them to shut down.

“While it is an inconvenience for us all, if we want to ski and have an enjoyable ski season and stay open for the season, we’re just going to have follow these mandates for the time being until this COVID passes,” said Smith.
