CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Six different agencies, including four fire districts, responded to a semi-truck fire near the TA gas station on I-80 near Burns. According to officials from Laramie County Fire District 6, it happened around 6 PM Christmas Day, when it’s believed a tire overheated and caught fire. The fire soon spread to the rest of the truck as it sat on the Westbound off-ramp at Exit 377.

Firefighters were on scene within 15 minutes. County fire districts 1, 2, 4, and 6 all were on scene, along with Wyoming Highway Patrol and Laramie County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say the off-ramp was closed for a time, but is now back open.

No one was injured in the incident, including the truck driver. The truck was apparently carrying around 45,000 pounds of chicken wings. The burned out truck, and the chicken wings, will have to stay on the side of the road overnight until towing companies can haul everything away.
