Light up Lander parade set for tomorrow night
LANDER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
The Light up Lander parade starts tomorrow night at 6 and begins on Baldwin Creek Road by the high school. All of Main Street will be closed for the parade, and it will end at the lit tree on 2nd Street at centennial park.
Lander mayor Monte Richardson stated, “We’ve got some neat little things going on which I won’t say right now, it’ll be a surprise. Santa will be there. I think we needed to keep moving forward with things to keep a little hope alive for people right now, we can’t keep taking things away. Like I said, I think it’s a great opportunity for the community to get out, and get out of the house, and off work to do something for Christmas.”
The carnival won’t take place this year, but Ol’ St. Nick will make an appearance in the parade of lights, and a few surprises are planned for the event.
“We’ve been locked in and locked down so much, it gives us a little hope there’s something coming in the future. We just can’t roll up the carpet and go away, I think we still need to move forward. We need to make things happen, show the community we’re still here, and we’re one great community together,” added Mayor Richardson.
