Casper homeless shelter and Casper PD serve Thanksgiving feast
Wyoming Rescue Mission and Casper Police Department team up to serve a Thanksgiving Day feast.
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Wyoming Rescue Mission works diligently each day to provide for those in need, and Casper police works tirelessly to serve and protect the community. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they collaborated to deliver a Thanksgiving feast for those in need.
Casper Chief of Police Keith McPheeters said it was important for his department to be active in the community, and he praised the Wyoming Rescue Mission for making the community “better.”
“We work very closely with Wyoming Rescue Mission all year long, but during the holiday season, it’s especially important for us to be able to show our support for a critical component of our community,” said McPheeters.
Wyoming Rescue Mission Executive Director Brad Hopkins said it was “absolutely meaningful” for the Casper Police Department to “go above and beyond” and volunteer to help out with their Thanksgiving meal.
Hopkins also said it was a “huge day” for the Wyoming Rescue Mission. “It just such an honor to be a part of caring for folks that are struggling, encouraging them, and seeing them take the next step in their life towards independence,” said Hopkins. “This is really a great way to celebrate, just to come together for a meal, and to be so thankful for the opportunities we have here at Wyoming Rescue Mission.”
