CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Saturday, the first Wyoming-hosted World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) competition takes place in the Capital City.

The event will be held at H.I.I.T 30; a gym which is located at 600 East Carlson Street, #100D in Cheyenne.

With other powerlifting groups having a hold on the Rocky Mountain region, the WRPF hopes to provide more options to people in the area who want to lift competitively.

“We want to give Wyoming and the surrounding states a lot more opportunities to pursue their hobby or passion,” WRPF Wyoming Chairman Jacob Kinkade said.

This meet also has the opportunity to help a local business.

“A lot of people, even in Cheyenne, don’t even know about us,” H.I.I.T 30 co-owner Tristin Williams said. “So, hopefully some people who don’t know about us will find out who we are and maybe want to come try it out.”

The competition begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The spectator cost is $5. Face masks masks must be worn if you attend the event.
