CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - In 2018, Mills put in an 8,100-pound steel eagle. It is perched at the corner of 2nd and Wyoming Blvd.

On Tuesday, people gathered to dedicate the area surrounding the eagle statue to those who helped make the project a reality. The updates to the area included a small parking lot near the statue and plaques at the base of the statue that bear the names of donors.

Seth Coleman, the mayor of Mills, said it was important to him to improve public areas in Mills. He said it felt “awesome” to have the eagle project completed.

“Mills has always been a very industrial place with a lot of rugged people, and this eagle is built from rugged materials, but it makes something beautiful in the end. That really represents Mills to me," said Coleman.
