CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Kevin O’Hearn wakes up each day and heads to his job as a building official for Mills and Bar Nunn, but he will have new responsibilities for District 59 as their House Representative.

At his daily job, he ensures people’s safety in their homes and workplaces as a building inspector. As the House District 59 Representative, he wants to make sure everyone is treated fairly.

O’Hearn realizes that people may be skeptical of his lack of experience with oil and gas, but he has been focused on learning more and more about the industry.

In Cheyenne, he intends to do whatever it takes to boost Wyoming’s economy, tourism industry and improve roads.

“Everybody needs, and everybody uses the roads. That increases tourism throughout the state, so people can come here without blowing a tire," said O’Hearn about the importance of fixing roadways.

He’s heard how politics and working in Cheyenne can change folks, but he won’t allow that to happen.

“I don’t believe in long terms, and I’m not going to be a full-time politician. I’m gonna keep this job and do my job in Cheyenne,” said O’Hearn.
