Lisa Engebretsen says she’s “anxious to get started” on Casper City Council
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Lisa Engebretsen has lived her whole life in Casper, and she had discussed running for Casper City Council for several years.
Engebretsen said, “I’ve always told my children that they should always be the change in the world that they want to see, and so the opportunity came up, and certain ordinances, that I don’t necessarily agree with had passed. So it was time for me to step up."
She will represent Ward I on Casper City Council. Engebretsen revealed “it was exciting” to win her election for Casper City Council, and she is “anxious to get started.”
Her main priority while on city council is to create more transparency between the city council and the public. She said she wanted it to be clear how certain decisions were made.
“I think the public needs to know a little bit more about what’s happening with the city council... I think that the public has just been left in the dark a lot with certain ordinances that have been passed and things,” said Engebretsen.
She also said she intended to review the budget and see where the city could possibly spend less money and create more kindness in the community.
