CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Release) - Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Campbell County in honor of Representative Roy Edwards. Mr. Edwards served in the Wyoming House of Representatives since 2015, representing House District 53 until his death. He passed away today, November 2.

Please note that this notice is only for the Wyoming State Flag and only at two locations in the state - at the Capitol Building and in Campbell County. Other flags should remain at full-staff. The Wyoming State Flag will remain at half staff until until sundown of the day of interment. A notification to restore the flag to full staff will follow at that time.

Wyoming Congresswoman and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) issued the following statement after it was announced that State Representative Roy Edwards had passed away.

“Phil and I were deeply saddened by the news of State Representative Roy Edwards' passing. Roy was a friend to all that knew him, and he never knew a stranger. Through his work at the Farm Co-op, Edward’s Tire Company, the County Commissioners, and the State Legislature, he left an indubitable mark as a leader within our state. Our thoughts and prayers are with Glenda and his children.”
