CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The annual Evansville Fire Department Haunted house is canceled, however, they wanted to help the Evansville community have a fun Halloween.

Capt. Corey Ramsey, an Evansville Fire Department Public Information Officer, said they are excited to work with the Evansville Police Department.

I’m excited to get both of our departments together because we work so close anyway. Any way we can get in the public’s eye together helps solidify that working relationship between our departments and with the public," Ramsey said.

Chief Mike Thompson said they are handing out bags of candy at the elementary school on Friday and on Saturday they will be bringing in extra officers to hand out candy to kids trick-or-treating around Evansville.

Thompson added this could be a tough year for families and they want to make this holiday fun.

“We want to make sure they have some sort of normalcy with the Halloween this year,” Thompson said.

He added giving candy to the kids at the school is a great way to interact with the community.
