CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With only one more week of the regular season in high school football in Wyoming, some teams are fighting to get into the playoffs, while others may be fighting for home-field advantage. One of the teams fighting for that home-field advantage and to end their regular season on a high note is Cheyenne Central (6-2), whom gets ready to head on the road and face Laramie (2-6) for Wyoming News Now’s Friday Night Frenzy week 8 game of the week.

Central’s season has gone through the highs of highs, and the lows of lows. The Indians started their campaign off strong, with back-to-back wins over last year 4A state title competitors in Sheridan and Thunder Basin, earning them the top seed through week 6, going 6-0. However, they suffered back-to-back losses the last two weeks to crosstown rivals and top-ranked Cheyenne East (7-1), and Rock Springs (5-3).

Laramie is coming off a dominant win against Cheyenne South, 55-2. Even though they may not have the best record with slim playoff hopes, the Plainsmen are coming into this match up with momentum, looking to go 2-0 against Cheyenne teams in their home stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for Friday, October 23, at 6:00pm MDT.
